About Children’s Books by Dian Cooper

I want to share a little insight into how my journey has unfolded—leading me from writing children’s books to founding Divine Hope Non Profit Corporation. 

I first dreamed of Africa the moment I stepped onto it's plains in 1992. 

God placed in my heart a deep love and passion for the African wildlife and the people who call it home. 

My life has not been easy, yet my passion for writing, painting, creating, and fulfilling my purpose for God has never wavered. The opportunity to pursue this dream came in 2014 when I moved to Africa. I asked God, Is my purpose to serve as a missionary? To build an orphanage? To build a church? Yet each door closed.  In 2017, I returned to Texas. Soon after, illness and divorce entered my life, and I found myself asking, 

“Why God?” 

Today, I understand—God must prepare us, shape us, and allow trials and disappointments to strengthen us for what He has planned all along. 

As a child, from kindergarten forward, I sketched angels, listened to Christian albums, and cried over Time magazine articles about animal cruelty while sitting in my mother’s salon. 

I was taunted and bullied growing up—and sadly, many children today experience the same pain. 

Because I know how this feels, I want to give children hope—reminding them they are not alone, that God loves them, and that He is always there, especially when they feel different from the world around them. 

My dream has shifted from what I once thought God had planned for me in Africa, into something even greater for my purpose today. My prayer is that those who read my books will be blessed, and that those who support 

Divine Hope Non Profit Corporation 

will know their contributions help and bless lives all around the world.
